Gardi wears a sleeveless, black, double-zippered shirt under a white vest. The shirt is zippered up to just below his neck and to just above his bellybutton. The white vest is yellow at the bottom with a blue stripe separating the two other colors. On his left arm he wears a loose white cloth that reaches a little bit above his fingers and up between his wrist and elbow. He was on a trip to Quebec to prepare for the upcoming Tour de Ski, and Khione spotted him whilst training. She immediately fell for him because of his skill in skiing and his apparent love of the sport and winter. When he was finished training she approached him. Audun didn't think much of her at first, but Khione kept watching him train every day and she always came to speak to him afterward, in the end, he too, fell in love with her. The two were together until the end of Tour de Ski, before they parted ways, Audun returning to Norway, but nine months later, Khione came to him with baby Gardi in her arms and gave him to Audun. She told him that the baby was no ordinary human, but she did not tell him the truth, and then she left, never to be seen again by either Audun or Gardi.

He was just like any other child, seemingly completely normal without any special talents whatsoever, perhaps except for his skill with the flute and strange appearance, but it didn't seem to bother him or anyone else much. From young age his father would always take him out skiing or snowboarding, one could almost say he was born with skis on his feet. Gardi became good very quickly and at the age of three he could stand on skis and snowboards on his own and go down hills without help. Gardi was very close to his father and the two was the best of friends, sharing a deep bond and understanding of one another.
Gardi had many friends and was well liked in his class, both by other students and teachers. He wasn't a top student, but he wasn't bad either, he was average , just a normal boy you passed in the halls without really looking twice, or even once, at.
When Gardi was five, his father had an accident while skiing and hit his head badly. He became permanently brain-damaged and ill, resulting in Gardi being unable to live with his father anymore. This wounded him emotionally and is the reason for his dislike of goodbyes and separations. After the accident he lived with his grandmother.
It was around this time that his powers started materializing. It became cold wherever he went, an objects and people alike became coated with frost. As he grew older his powers became stronger and more apparent. When he was twelve the first monster appeared.
While walking home from school he was attacked by a Lamia, but before it could do any damage he was rescued by a satyr called Arastoo,whom killed the monster. The satyr explained everything to Gardi and told him that he had been watching him for months. At first Gardi refused to believe him, but after a bit of convincing he finally gave in and accepted the truth.
Gardi went home with the Arastoo whom again explained everything to his grandmother while he himself packed his stuff. Saying goodbye, but vowing to keep in contact and come visit her as often as he could, Gardi and Arastoo left for Camp Hald-Blood.
Weapons: A small dagger called Cheimó̱n (χειμών). When he is not using it, it is disguised as a silver chain attached to his belt.
